Jill Caren
Hi, I am Jill and I have been developing and designing WordPress websites and working as an SEO strategist since 2006. My clients have included charity organizations, B2Bs, and e-commerce brands – but these were never just “clients” but partners. I focus on creating relationships and like to act as a Fractional Web Manager, so clients know they have a “friend on the web” when they need one.
I have been featured on MSN, Hubspot, Serpstat, SEO Powersuite and other publications for my SEO expertise. While I no longer do SEO as a service, I bring my years of experience to every website I work on!
My journey.
I started my internet journey in 2006. I was working as a photographer, but I wanted to dive into the world of e-commerce. I owned a portrait studio and wanted to start a photo gift store featuring handcrafted custom photo goods.
After hiring a developer and spending too much on a site I hated and that did not work, I decided to build it myself using Zencart. I had no experience at all with websites or SEO – but I did it – and loved it.
A few months later I Love Photo Gifts was launched. In just a few short months the website ranked on page 1 for super competitive terms like “photo gifts”. It would later be featured in Businessweek magazine as a success story.
That is when the addiction to SEO + web development started.
The timing could not be better. By 2008 the market crashed, the portrait studio was struggling and 2 Dogs Media, LLC was born.
The here and now.

In 2008, I launched 2dogsdesign.com which offered WordPress website development and SEO services. The company would become successful with a long track record of happy clients and scaled revenue and traffic. I sold that website and business in 2021.
In 2021 I decided to focus on working as a freelance SEO consultant. In 2025, I put SEO aside and decided to get back into WordPress development because I missed it!
While I am the main contact for all projects and do a majority of the work, I do have a small team of independent contracts that I work with.
I also manage my own portfolio of websites including bluecollarbrain.com and kindhive.co.
I create videos on YouTube to help others learn SEO and digital marketing and offer a free DIY website audit to give back to the community.
Real client results.
These are some of the results I have achieved for clients.
Food Blogger
I did several consultations with a food blogger who was struggling to grow her organic traffic. She was doing well on Pinterest but lacked the skills to get organic success on her own.
After conducting a technical and content audit she went to work on improving her site.
Project success factor
Increase of keywords ranking went from 5,232 to 20,633 (as per Ahrefs) within 7 months.
NYC Psychologist
When I started with this client they had very little local or organic visibility. The content on the site was not SEO friendly and there was not real optimization or keyword strategy. I worked with this client for almost 5 years and helped bring tremendous growth during that time.
The client now has several offices and has more than doubled his staff.
Project success factor
Average yearly growth of 76% for organic traffic.
New Blog Launch
Client is in a competitive niche in the educational sector and wanted to create an asset to bring leads to their software. We developed a new blog strategy that focused on keywords in various stages of the buying cycle and created strong call-to-actions to push readers throw on the top of the funnel content pieces.
Client invested heavily in content to help align with the SEO strategy.
Project success factor
Within 9 months the client was seeing an average of 20,000 visitors to the blog with an average conversion rate of 5.3%.
Software Company
A software company in the health niche was losing traffic drastically and had not clear reason why. An immersive audit revealed many technical and content issues that were preventing the client from getting articles ranked.
They submitted my audit recommendations to their developer for improvements while I focused on optimizing the content.
Project success factor
Within 1 year client had a 132% increase in organic traffic.
Your Best Friend on the Web
“RIP Ginger & Riley”
I often get asked about the name “2 Dogs Media”.
Ginger and Riley were my muses for the launch of 2 Dogs Media back in 2008.
My best friends, my side kicks, my inspiration to be a “best friend” to those looking for SEO and help growing a blog or business.
Although my girls passed away years ago, my passion and desire to help website owners grow their brands organically is still strong.
