2 Dogs Media is a WordPress development agency for nonprofits and mission driven brands founded by Jill Caren. We are focused on creating websites that help brands that give a damn a chance to grow and thrive.
Jill Caren has been developing and designing WordPress websites and working as an SEO strategist since 2006. Every project is not just a “client” relationship, but a “partnership”. She works with brands that are mission-driven and over the years has partnered with brands like Keep America Beautiful, Travel and Tourism Research Association, Society of Range Management, Land Trust Alliance and so much more.
She has also been featured on MSN, Hubspot, Serpstat, SEO Powersuite and other publications for her SEO expertise. Although SEO is not a service offered, her of experience are brought to every website built!
The journey.
It started in 2006. Jill was working as a photographer, but wanted to dive into the world of e-commerce. She owned a portrait studio and wanted to offer custom photo gifts online.
After hiring a developer being extremely disappointed – she decided to build her own.
A few months later I Love Photo Gifts was launched. In just a few short months the website ranked on page 1 for super competitive terms like “photo gifts”. It would later be featured in Businessweek magazine as a success story.
That is when the addiction to SEO + web development started.
The timing could not be better. By 2008 the market crashed, the portrait studio was struggling and 2 Dogs Media, LLC was born.
The here and now.
In 2008, 2dogsdesign.com launched and offered WordPress website development and SEO services. The agency would become successful with a long track record of happy clients, employees and contractors. Achievements were made in launching, growing and scaling websites to meet client KPIs. After much consideration, Jill sold the agency in 2021.
Later that year, Jill decided to focus on working as a freelance SEO consultant under her brand 2 Dogs Media. In 2025, she put SEO aside and decided to get back into WordPress development because she missed the creativity and challenges.
While she is the main contact for all projects and does a majority of the work, she also has a small team of independent contracts that she works with.

I often get asked about the name “2 Dogs Media”.
Ginger and Riley were my muses for the launch of 2 Dogs Media back in 2008.
My best friends, my side kicks, my inspiration to be a “best friend” to those looking for SEO and help growing a blog or business.
Although my girls passed away years ago, my passion and desire to help website owners grow their brands organically is still strong.
